The Liverpool head coach admitted that it was expected for concerns to be asked about his position after a further convincing loss against the Dutch champions.
The Reds suffered their ninth defeat in twelve games, representing the team's worst streak after being relegated in 1953-54.
They were dominated by the Dutch league champions on a difficult night at Anfield.
“I'm confident, things are alright, I have got significant backing from above,” Slot remarked.
“It would be great to reverse this trend and get a victory naturally but if you are in a managerial role and underperforming then it is normal that doubts arise.”
He added, “I accept my situation. This isn't the initial instance I've found myself in a difficult position but it's necessary that we improved our results.”
When asked to expand on his dialogues with the Liverpool hierarchy, the head coach explained:
“There's regular dialogue. They are helpful to the team and for me and we discuss these matters but they aren't calling me constantly of the day to say they have faith in me.”
He added, “During our regular exchanges I perceive the belief. However I haven’t spoken to them since this match yet so we'll see.”
Slot lamented recurring shortcomings from his squad in their Champions League defeat, namely poor finishing and conceding too easily.
Meanwhile, player Curtis Jones was more forthright in his assessment of the club’s predicament.
“I don’t have the answers. Frankly, I do not. I'm telling that to all,” Jones said.
“It's simply not good enough. I don’t even have to wait to reflect. I'm beyond being angry internally. I've reached the stage now where I simply lack the vocabulary.”
He went on, “It's difficult because I play for the side I follow. I support them, and I've watched this club for years.”
“In a long, long time, I've not seen a Liverpool team experiencing a period such as this with outcomes so bad.”
Jones concluded, “However we continue to wear the emblem on our shirts. And as long as it is removed, we'll continue to compete.”
“We will attempt to get this team return to where it needs to be, demonstrate to all again what Liverpool stands for and the reason it's called the best team in the planet.”
“At this moment, things are bad and we have to turn it around.”
