Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
An official for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of reports of questionable actions directed at women.
The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
He has published more than 40 books altogether, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.
He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
