Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.

US entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles recently after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, according to news outlets.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a announcement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

A Notable TV Career

His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, like:

• King of Queens
• "Friends"
• That '70s Show
• House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a comedy group of six called "Beer Shark Mice".

"He taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, peer Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted online.

The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
